Shelby Knox powered a seven-run third inning with a grand slam as the Northwest Florida State College softball team completed its sweep of Southeastern Iowa with an 8-0 win in the second game of doubleheader on Monday. In the first game, NWF State (24-4) outlasted SE Iowa 11-6.
Whitney Fletcher went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs in the opener, while Brittany Dunson went 2-for-3 with two runs and Ashlyn Masters finished the day 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
Game 2 saw Emily Rousseau notch the win after tossing five innings of three-hit ball. Rousseau also struck out six on the night.
The Raiders open Panhandle Conference play on Thursday as they host Tallahassee Community College at 4 and 6 p.m.
