Lady Raiders fall at Pensacola State, 71-61
Northwest Florida State College's top-ranked women suffered their first defeat of the season, falling to Pensacola State 71-61 on Saturday. The loss snapped the Raiders 18-game winning streak to open the season.
"That's a good basketball team," Raiders coach Patrick Harrington said of Pensacola State. "You have to make basketball plays. I thought we played poorly in the first half. NWF State trailed Pensacola State 31-24 at the break.
"As I told our ladies after the game, we have to let this one sting in our belly a little bit, it should, and then let's get ready for work on Wednesday against Tallahassee."
Shae Kelley led the Raiders (18-1, 2-1) with 21 points. NWF State hosts Tallahassee on Wednesday. Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m. at The Arena.
